Barni is the official mascot of the European Championships in Barcelona in 2010 and UVd were asked to design and build ‘BeatBarni’, a retro style game in the Daley Thompson's Decathlon mould where competitors must beat Barni in a Pentathlon involving 100M, 400M Hurdles, Javelin, Pole Vault and Long Jump events. Online game sponsored by Nissan for the Top Gear website requiring users to speed through 3 levels controlling their speed by repeatedly pressing X-Y buttons as fast as they can and using their booster. Integrated within social media channels including Facebook and Twitter for viral marketing purposes. For data submission and receiving data while interacting with the webserver we used AMFPHP which is open-source implementation of the Action Message Format (AMF).
