Services

At the heart and soul of UVd is a desire to produce engaging user experiences and digital resources whether they are delivered as a web site, web application or Flash game. But there is a human side to us too; we want to work with our customers to help them achieve something they couldn't otherwise do. That's the rewarding part, to help you communicate your ideas, to sell your products and to educate, engage and entertain your audience through digital technology.

Web design

Web design encompasses the many facets involved with the production of a 'website'. In this case the word 'design' in itself can be quite misleading as it invariably implies the visual but in fact covers the design of the solution as well. Sometimes we will design our customers' online brand, which will include a full creative design process, designing a user interface and building the website. At other times we build a website based on a design provided; offering our expertise as consultants during the design process and then the technical expertise by building the website to comply with W3C and accessibility (up to AAA standards) guidelines using appropriate technologies such as HTML, XHTML, CSS, jQuery.

Web applications

Extending web design further, web applications provide a higher level of functionality and usually include server side technologies such as PHP or Asp.net and a database back-end such as MySQL or MS SQL Server. Common applications we have produced include bespoke content management systems (CMS), subscriptions and registrations, ecommerce and community driven sites such as blogs and forums.

Flash Platform

Flash Platform encompasses anything delivered using Adobe's suite of products which utilise the Flash API including Flash, Flex and Air. Examples include anything from branding and communication tools such as intro animations, headers (Hero Space) and games to in-depth and highly interactive educational software for use in schools as well as rich interactive experiences to help users perform complex tasks such as marking students' work or deliver rich media and information such as video and audio.
